The Matha College of Teacher Education is a limb of Memorial Education Trust . Which is a Non-Governmental Christian Minority Charitable Trust.

VISION AND MISSION:

In the Gospel according to St. Luke Jesus said “ The Sprit of the Lord is upon me; because He has anointed me to preach the Gospel to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken hearted to Preach deliverance to the captives and recovering of the sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to preach the acceptable year of the lord”.(St. Luke iv: 18-19) This Nazareth Manifesto “LIVE TO SERVE” is the Motto of our Organisation. To live upto our motto we work out strategies to involve in our activities the pauperized, the marginalized, the abandoned and the downtrodden who are in the periphery in our activities. To fulfil the aims and objectives of our programme, is our mission to achieve our vision.

ORIGIN OF THE MATHA COLLEGE OF TEACHER EDUCATION:

Sivagangai and Ramanathapuram Districts are the most backward Districts in TamilNadu . All the professional colleges are situated in big towns and cities. The youth of our area are economically backward and it is not possible for them to spend money on their Professional Education . Hence the Matha Memorial Education trust planned to start B.Ed., College for the benefit of the Rural poor students in the style and name of Matha College of Teacher Education .
